This course introduces students to basic concepts and techniques in computer vision. The topics covered include image formation and camera models, linear filters, edge detection, stereo vision, image segmentation, feature extraction, object detection, object recognition, tracking, and image/video databases. A strong programming background is assumed, as well as familiarity with linear algebra (vector and matrix operations). C++, Java, and Matlab will be the programming languages/environments used in the programming assignments.
