Brief Biography

I am teaching CSE3330 (database I) in Fall 2008 at the University of Texas at Arlington. I received MS and PhD degrees in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The University of Texas at Arlington in 2003 and 2008 respectively. I received BE degree in Electronic Engineering from Hong-ik University (Seoul, Korea)  in 1995. I worked at Samsung Semiconductor (Kiheung, Korea) from 1995 to 2000 as an engineer of Photolithographic Equipment.

Research Interests

My current research is in area of both network and databases. Recently, I was working on energy-efficient data gathering tree problem in wireless sensor networks. Currently, I am working on data mining for wireless sensor networks. My research interests include deployment, coverage, localization, routing, robust data transmission, and recovery in sensor failure. Also, I am interested in energy-efficient query and indexing systems, data management, streaming data, and data mining in wireless sensor networks.
