Brief Biography

I am teaching CSE1301 (Computer literacy) for non-CSE students in Summer 2009 at the University of Texas at Arlington and working as a postdoctoral fellow at HERACLEIA Human-Centered Computing Lab. I received MS and PhD degrees in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The University of Texas at Arlington in 2003 and 2008 respectively. I received BE degree in Electronic Engineering from Hong-ik University (Seoul, Korea)  in 1995. I worked at Samsung Semiconductor (Kiheung, Korea) from 1995 to 2000 as an engineer of Photolithographic Equipment.

Research Interests

My current research is in area of wireless sensor networks and data management.
Currently, I am working on human behavior detection in assisted living environment using wireless sensor networks. In this work, I am focusing on the event definition, event identification, event detection, and data cleaning of wireless sensor networks. Recently, I was working on energy-efficient data gathering tree problem in wireless sensor networks. My research interests include energy-efficient query and indexing systems, data management, streaming data, and data mining in wireless sensor networks.
