Neelabh Pant

Hi, welcome to my website! My name is Neelabh Pant and I am a PhD student in Computer Science and Engineering department at the University of Texas at Arlington. My supervisor is Dr. Ramez Elmasri. You can find more about Dr. Ramez Elmasri on his Wikipedia page.

Current Research Interests

Several techniques were proposed to predict a user's movement, but not many have concentrated on a user's location based on both weekday and time period within the day and other more features like, weather conditions, traffic conditions etc.

My primary research interests are developing techniques to build a system to address these challenges. In particular, my objective is to apply techniques from artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning and spatial databases to:

  • Make accurate predictions of a user's future locations.
  • Build a system on top of the predictor which can act as a recommendation system based on the user's future locations.
  • Speed up the calculations by making use of an efficient indexing system.
  • Displaying results in an interactive fashion by making use of GIS.
