Note: The essay assignment will count for the ABET requirements for written communication. You must get a passing score (37.5) for the essay in order to satisfy ABET requirement. If a student does not demonstrate timely achievement of the assessment and would otherwise pass the course, then the student will receive a grade of incomplete (I) for the course until such time when the assessment instrument is satisfactorily complete. The student will be allowed to re-attempt demonstration of satisfactory completion during the next offering of the course.

Regarding Smalltalk-related assignments:
1. Readings: * Smalltalk by Example, Chapter 1-6. (Chapter 7-9 are also recommended, especially sections related to Array). * Section "10.6 Smalltalk" in the textook. 2. HW2 and MP2 will require you to use Squeak to write Smalltalk programs. Download Squeak at http://www.squeak.org/. I expect you to write smalltalk program using your own computers. If you don't have personal computer, please let me know. We will find ways to accommodate you.

No questions will be answered during the exam. We will try to make the exam as clear as possible. If you believe something is wrong, write down your thoughts. If you feel something is confusing or ambiguous, clearly write your assumptions that you make while solving the problem.
